Treatment and prophylaxis of toxoplasmosis.

Treatment of nocardia infections.

Appropriate culture and susceptibility studies should be performed. On the basis of clinical judgement and anticipated bacteriological findings, therapy may be instituted before results of susceptibility studies are obtained.

Antibiotic treatment may require modification once these results become available. If there is a failure to respond to therapy with Cotrazim, its administration should be terminated and appropriate alternative therapy instituted.

It should be noted that the effects of combinations of sulphamethoxazole and trimethoprim have not been fully evaluated in streptococcal infections.
