SEPREX 200 , 400mg Cap & 100mg/5ml Powder

 

Composition:

-          SEPREX 400mg Capsule:    

Each Capsule contains 400mg of Cefixime.

-          SEPREX 200mg Capsule:

Each Capsule contains 200mg of Cefixime

-          SEPREX 100mg/5ml Powder for oral suspension:

Each 5ml of Suspension (after reconstitution) contains 100mg of Cefixime.

Supplied either 30 or 60 ml after preparation

1-What SEPREX is and what it is used for

-          SEPREX contains a medicine called cefixime. This belongs to a group of antibiotics called “cephalosporins.

-          SEPREX is used to treat infections caused by bacteria. These include infections of the:

·         Ear              

·         Nose, sinuses (such as sinusitis)

·         Throat (such as tonsillitis, pharyngitis) 

·         Chest and lungs (such as bronchitis and pneumonia)

·         Urinary system (such as cystitis and kidney infections)

2-How to use SEPREX:      

The usual dose is:

·         Adults, Elderly and Children over 10 years or weighing more than 50kg: 200mg to 400mg each day, depending on the infection

·         Children 5 to 10 years old: 10ml each day

·         Children 1 to 4 years old: 5ml each day

·         Children 6 months to 1 year old: 3.75ml each day

-          NB: After the powder has been mixed with water, keep the bottles of medicine at temperature below 25° C.

-          After being mixed with water, SEPREX can be used for 14 days. Any liquid remaining after14 days should discarded.
